Responsibilities:
  • The Engineering Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and directing engineering to meet company objectives. The Manager will lead and supervise the staff in Product Engineering, Sales Engineering, CAD System Design, Project Management, Process Engineering, and Technical Sales Support and oversee an overall staff of approximately 40 that includes managers, engineers, technicians, designers, and developers.
  • Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports.
  • Review, approve, or modify product designs.
  • Continually improve collaboration between engineering, sales, and operations to build internal relationships and service level agreements to meet and exceed customer expectations.
  • Work with customers and sales to solve problems and develop new products, creating a higher value proposition and securing new business.
  • Work with operations and quality manager, reviews and monitors quality and process improvements and new product development.
  • Work with sales and operations to develop lower cost designs to support new pricing and business decisions.
  • Lead containment, problem solving, and corrective action activities to ensure the customer is protected as much as possible, as well as implementation of subsequent preventative measures.

Production Shift Supervisor

Weld Coach

Responsibilities:
  • This position is responsible for overseeing the implementation of welding procedures and welding personnel at their respective FWT facility.

    Key Roles & Responsibilities:

    Conduct pre-employment evaluations of potential new hires.
    Communicate with the Plant Managers, Supervisors and Weld Technicians regarding welding personnel who are having difficulties performing to FWT standards.
    Assist with the training of new employees and employees needing refinement or up-grading of certifications.
    Assist and identify welding related issues (personnel, consumable or equipment related).
    Ensure that all welding personnel are operating within the FWT welding parameters for the procedures that are being used.
    Ensure that all personnel are using safe work practices.

Requirements:
  • ? Must be able to work in an outside manufacturing environment for long shifts, including some weekends.

Lead, Inventory Control (Warehouse)

Responsibilities:
  • Identifies, tracks and manages shortages while aiding in the sequencing of work to maximize throughput.
  • Works hands-on and leads assigned team to efficiently and safely accomplish assigned tasks.

Industrial Maintenance Technician (Nights)

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Performs diagnosis, testing, disassembly, inspecting, repair and re-assembly of plant equipment or components such as hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic shear, vacuum equipment, roller leveler, cranes, electrical boards and components, etc.
  • Performs skilled trouble shooting and servicing of pneumatic and hydraulic components.
  • Performs proper replacement and/or adjustment of mechanical clutches, drive trains, etc.
  • Repairs worn parts, straightens and fabricates fixtures (welding, cutting, brazing, and surface hardening applications).
  • Assists personnel and operators in proper direction of equipment repairs.
  • Performs major and general repairs on all equipment.
  • Records labor and material used on each repair made.
  • Takes proper care and use of test equipment.
  • Properly uses lift equipment (cranes, booms, manlifts, cherry picker, etc.)
  • Exercises communication skills pertaining to the job.
  • Handles production coverage with little or no supervision as needed. .
  • Reports all abnormal conditions and safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Performs housekeeping and other routine tasks as directed.
  • Works safely, and to follow safe working practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and other safety procedures.
  • Effectively uses the Epicore/Vantage computer system to report data, check job schedules, inventory levels, routings, bill of materials, as well as, train new and existing employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
  • One to three years of Maintenance and/or Electrical experience in a manufacturing environment desired.
  • Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced deadline driven environment, while contributing to the success of the team.
  • Efficient in computer application including Microsoft Office and other industry computer applications.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and decimals. Ability to convert inch to metric

Welder Fitter

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Uses the Metal Core Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld
    The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts
    Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly
    Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 lbs
    Read and interpret drawings to assure proper location of various small part attachments
    Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications
    Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
    Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel
    Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts
    Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts
    Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing
    Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face
    Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures by changing tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve
    Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded area
    Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing
    Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, and grinding debris
    Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications
    Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size

Requirements:
  • • Recent experience working with Quality Control in a welding/manufacturing environment preferred
    • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, and in all types of weather conditions such as rain, snow, heat, and cold
    • Must possess strong English verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to build relationships with co-workers and other internal customers
    • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced team environment
    • Must possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and quality manuals, blue prints, and design drawings along with proficiency to use and understand measuring and testing equipment

    • Ability to input and retrieve information form PC based information systems
    • Ability to use various dimensional inspection tools such as tape measures, 6” inch rules, combination squares, levels, etc
    • Ability to perform work functions while standing for long periods of time
    • Ability to climb and bend over in order to perform inspections
    • Ability to accurately verify all parts to print using measuring devices such as a tape measure, combination squares, levels, etc.
    • Must be able to meet the AWS D1.1 requirements of a visual weld inspector

Paint & Blast Lead

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure all painted products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Efficiently uses computer systems and software to collect labor hours and track process information on each job.
  • Maintain complete records of all liquid paints and solvents used during each shift. Ensures that painting volume is limited to appropriate levels to ensure compliance with regulations and policies regarding emissions.
  • Runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in paint booth area, such as forklifts, cranes/overhead cranes, trucks, etc.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and policies regarding safe storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes.
  • Ensure all daily production logs are filled out properly.
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from paint booth, blast or production areas by hand or using trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
  • Ensure machinery, tools and equipment are in good working order.
  • Inspect all lifting equipment prior to use (forklifts, cranes, monorails, chains, slings, etc).
  • Train and assess employees' competencies in the Skill-Based Pay process.
  • Communicate any unusual operating conditions or issues to appropriate personnel.
  • Must use good judgment, follow instructions and have good problem solving abilities.
  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

Paint & Blast

Alvarado, TX

Responsibilities:
  • Runs, maneuvers, navigates or drives heavy equipment or mechanized equipment in paint booth area, such as forklifts, cranes/overhead cranes, liquid coating equipment, trucks, etc.
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from paint booth, blast or production areas by hand or using trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
  • Follow blue prints for the coating dimensions and measurements accurately on a regular basis.
  • Efficiently use computer systems and software to collect labor hours and track process information on each job.
  • Ensure all painted products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime. Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Identify material by job number, piece mark, labels and/or other applicable indicators.
  • Sort products to be painted according to finish required and size of parts in order to get efficient use of equipment.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, grinders and proper PPE during use.
  • Monitor levels of blasting media and add material as needed.

        Responsibilities:
        • Reads and interprets daily workloads to determine what parts and shafts are required, and prioritize according to shipping buffer.

        • Occasionally operates forklift truck and straddle truck to move products into painting facility.
