Welder C STS Day

Responsibilities:
  • Manually positions pole assembly in pole rollers into proper position for welding.
  • Reads and interprets drawings (including weld symbols) and specifications to determine proper location of attachments, as well as weld size and configuration.
  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
  • Adjusts welding machines to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Frequently pushes pulls and lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with published welding codes and specifications
  • Uses GMAC or FCAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies in 1G and 2F positions
  • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, leather sleeves and/or cape and welding hood
  • Works in confined areas at various locations on the small pole assembly line as necessary to weld components described above
  • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinders, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill carious size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings and specifications
  • Visually inspects his/her work to identify material discrepancies and to ensure that welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications.
  • Uses overhead cranes to transport and move material. Overhead crane training will be required.
  • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size, standard and metric
  • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules.
  • Corrects labor reporting in MES system to ensure operations are complete.
  • Assists fitter in assembling pole assembly when needed. Uses measuring tape, level, square and angle finder to measure distances and angles
  • Uses oxy-fuel cutting torch and plasma-arc torch for cutting steel.
  • Operates assembly line cart system to move tubular shafts into position for cutting on band saw and for fitting. Operates band saw for cutting tubular shafts according to specifications.
  • Maintains a clean work area.

Requirements:
  • Mig welding experience preferred
  • Must have a basic math aptitude.
  • Must be able to determine amperage and voltage settings.
  • Must be able to determine weld size and amount of penetration.
  • Must be able to determine bend radius on arms.
  • Able to accurately use measuring instruments such as tape measure, heat stick-method (material temp.), weld bead gauge and metric gauge
  • Must be able to understand and communicate verbally in English language.
  • Must possess adequate dexterity and stamina to sustain expected production effectively.
  • Knowledge and awareness of the safety issues related to each operation performed within the department.
  • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift. Must be able to use foot pedal to operate equipment.
  • Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be capable of reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, crawling under or over and occasional climbing.
  • Must be able to pass a commercial driver vision test.
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred

Custodian Days

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Uses floor sweeper and broom to remove debris from the plant floor.
  • Cleans and dusts equipment and areas of the plant as needed.
  • Removes trash on a daily basis from breakrooms.
  • Works with Inventory to ensure the trash receptacles from the plant floor are emptied.
  • Helps pick up debris/garbage outside.
  • Supports and follows all Safety policies and procedures including handling of hazardous materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Previous shop floor or industrial custodial experience is preferred.
  • Must possess the ability to use a power sweeper.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally in English.
  • Must be capable of standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, crawling under or over and occasional climbing. Handle, grasp, lift, push, pry, pull and drag materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Production floor environment may include fluctuations in/and exposure to hot/cold temperature.
  • Required PPE includes safety glasses and steel-toe boots. Due to abnormal level of noise as a result of grinding, chipping and hammering requires hearing protection (ear plugs) to be worn at all times when on the production floor.

Welder/Fitter Weekend Shift (STS)

Sioux City, IA

Responsibilities:
  • Summary:
    The fitter works under the direct supervision of the shift supervisor and his/her assigned lead person. The fitter performs various production tacking processes within prescribed codes, and according to prescribed procedures, specifications, and drawings.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Uses the Flux Core Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld. The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts.
  • Works on individual fitter station to assemble pole assembly. Assist material handler in loading round tube or formed shaft on individual fitter station.
  • Reads and interprets drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly. Locate and gather Storeroom Personnel staged parts needed for assembly from parts staging area. Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 pounds.
  • Reads and interprets drawing to assure proper location of various small part attachments. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications.
  • Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
  • Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays.
  • Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts.
  • Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face.
  • Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results.
  • Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature.
  • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing.
  • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially.
  • Uses overhead crane to load finished poles into bolsters for transportation out of the pole assembly area.
  • Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity.

Requirements:
  • Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and decimals.
  • Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure.
  • Must know how to properly use a weld gauge.
  • Read and write English.
  • Must be able to stand 100% of scheduled shift. Lifting, pushing, prying, and dragging heavy materials.
  • Must be capable of bending, stooping, crawling under or over and occasional climbing.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Abnormal level of noise due to grinding, chipping, hammering requires hearing protection (ear plugs) be worn at all times.
  • Must be able to pass a standard vision test.

Department Assistant-IT

Responsibilities:
  • Summary:
    The department assistant will ensure the Helpdesk phone calls are answered and directed to the proper individuals in a timely manner.
  • Responsibilities
  • Professionally administers all incoming calls from the Helpdesk line.
  • Ensures phone calls are redirected accordingly.
  • Assists with various research projects and/or special projects, programs and procedures as needed.
  • Provisioning and managing data and cellular phone plans.

Equipment Operator B Inventory Weekend (STS)

  • Position Summary: This position is responsible for operating a forklift for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stocking, and counting materials in accordance to production standards.

  • Safely and efficiently unloads inbound shipments and moves product to storage locations.

  • Pulls and prepares product for shipment.

Requirements:
  • 3 to 5 years of recent warehouse and forklift operating experience. Experience using 10,000+ pound capacity forklift or heavy equipment.

        Works in Large Pole department on individual fitter station to assemble pole assembly. Assist material handler in loading round tube or formed shaft on individual fitter station.
        Reads and interprets drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly. Locate and gather Storeroom Personnel staged parts needed for assembly from parts staging area. Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 pounds.
        Reads and interprets drawing to assure proper location of various small part attachments. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications.
        Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
        Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays.
        Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts.
        Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face.
        Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results.
        Finish weld various products of the unit to keep the product moving through the large pole department in a timely manner. Reads and interprets weld symbols.
        Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature.
        Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
        Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing.
        Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially.
        Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size.
        When called for by the drawings and specifications, must produce full-penetration welds as defined by American Welding Society code. Uses air-arc gouger to remove weld defects, and rewelds to meet specifications.
        Uses overhead crane to load finished poles into bolsters for transportation out of the pole assembly area.
        Welds other products in other areas, using either Flux-Cored Arc Welding or Gas Metal Arc Welding process.
        Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity.

            Responsibilities:
            • Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms and records.

            Welder/Fitter Weekend Shift

            Responsibilities:
            • Uses the Flux Core Arc Welding process to tack weld various small components to round or formed shafts to make a pole assembly for the welder to weld. The pole assembly generally consists of a round tube or formed shaft, baseplate, hand hole, arm mounting simplex, tenon top, vangs, step lugs, ladder clips, and/or other small parts.
            • Works on individual fitter station to assemble pole assembly. Assist material handler in loading round tube or formed shaft on individual fitter station.
            • Reads and interprets drawings to determine parts needed to assemble pole assembly. Locate and gather Storeroom Personnel staged parts needed for assembly from parts staging area. Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 pounds.
            • Reads and interprets drawing to assure proper location of various small part attachments. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications.
            • Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions.
            • Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays.
            • Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts.
            • Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face.
            • Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results.
            • Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature.
            • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing.
            • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially.
            • Uses overhead crane to load finished poles into bolsters for transportation out of the pole assembly area.
            • Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity.

            Requirements:

                Painter Days

                Responsibilities:
                • Sets, operates and maintains shot blast and liquid coating equipment.
                • Maintains complete records of all liquid paints and solvents used during each 4-hour period. Assures that painting volume is limited to appropriate levels to assure compliance with regulations and policies regarding emissions.

                  • Manually positions pole assembly in pole rollers into proper position for welding.

                  • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
                  • Adjusts welding machines to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Frequently pushes pulls and lifts up to 50 pounds.
                  • Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with published welding codes and specifications

                    Drafter I (AutoCAD)

                    Sioux City, IA

                    Responsibilities:
                    • Creates and checks drawings for all aspects of the towers and associated components
                    • Creates Bills of Material for each job.
                    • Creates fabrication drawings for non-standard parts.
                    • Troubleshoots production and field issues.
                    • Other duties as required.

                    Requirements:
                    • 1-2 years recent experience in Drafting desired. Will consider recent college graduate.
                    • Basic understanding of drafting principles.
                    • Proficient in AutoCAD; Experience with Inventor or AutoCAD 3-D is preferred, but not required.
                    • Proficient in computer applications including, Microsoft Excel.
                    • Strong math skills.
                    • High attention to detail and effective organization.
                    • Professional and efficient English verbal and written communication skills.
                    • Position is in an office environment and will require working on a computer the majority of the day. Regularly required to use hands to use keyboard and mouse, finger, handle or grasp.

                    Welder (mig)

                    Sioux City, IA

                    Responsibilities:
                    • Manually positions pole assembly in pole rollers into proper position for welding.
                    • Reads and interprets drawings (including weld symbols) and specifications to determine proper location of attachments, as well as weld size and configuration.
                    • Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses tables to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions
                    • Adjusts welding machines to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Frequently pushes pulls and lifts up to 50 pounds.
                    • Uses oxy-fuel torch to pre-heat parts to be welded in accordance with published welding codes and specifications
                    • Uses GMAC or FCAW welding process to weld small components or assemblies in 1G and 2F positions
                    • Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, leather sleeves and/or cape and welding hood
                    • Works in confined areas at various locations on the small pole assembly line as necessary to weld components described above
                    • Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinders, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas.
                    • Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill carious size holes on pole assembly as required by drawings and specifications
                    • Visually inspects his/her work to identify material discrepancies and to ensure that welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications.
                    • Uses overhead cranes to transport and move material. Overhead crane training will be required.
                    • Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size, standard and metric
                    • Reads and interprets work orders and daily production schedules.
                    • Corrects labor reporting in MES system to ensure operations are complete.
                    • Assists fitter in assembling pole assembly when needed. Uses measuring tape, level, square and angle finder to measure distances and angles
                    • Uses oxy-fuel cutting torch and plasma-arc torch for cutting steel.
                    • Operates assembly line cart system to move tubular shafts into position for cutting on band saw and for fitting. Operates band saw for cutting tubular shafts according to specifications.
                    • Maintains a clean work area.

                    Requirements:

                    Electrical Engineer

                    Bossier City, LA

                    Responsibilities:
                    • Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
                    • Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
                    • Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.
                    • Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
                    • Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems.

                    • Responsible for the design of large scale solar power conversion stations and utility interactive battery energy storage systems from initial design to final installation.

                    Requirements:
                    • 3-5 years of practical Engineering experience.
